Versioning of managed files; maintenance of file deletion policies; synchronization between source and destination locations (Housekeeping ); data management reporting including future data usage reporting and many other features give the client full control of their managed data.
This new release introduces some interesting easy-to-use features and improvements over its predecessor such as the ability to support absolute destinations making SmartMove perfect for one-off data relocation projects.
Amongst other improvements is the job progress monitoring functionality added to Housekeeping. A more efficient server/client interface and finally a more robust SmartMove data reporting can be achieved in this release.

Enigma Data continues improving SmartMove's integration to their partners' storage devices and products. An example is EMC's Celerra NAS storage device, which, when combined with SmartMove, offers true virtualization. SmartMove moves files from the Celerra to a secondary storage and subsequent client requests for the migrated data are seamlessly redirected to its new location, referenced by the Celerra.
